HISTORY
Bay leaf, the herb of victory, honor and success, was used to crown champions after sporting events in ancient Greece. Its deep, rich and warm aroma is characteristic of Bay Rum, the traditional cologne of the West Indies.

Although I did enjoy the exfoliate aspect of this product (most soaps claiming to be exfoiliants do not the have the same quality as this bar), I did not enjoy the aroma at all.

I originally bought this for my husband, but now it is the only soap in the shower. If you are a woman and you don't like floral smelling soap or even fruity soaps, then I would recommend you try this. It smells like mulling spices, like cinnamon and vanilla, and yes of course, rum. I like the exfoliating texture, as opposed to a chemical exfoliant, like a fruit acid. This soap doesn't leave me feeling dried out, just clean.
Clara "Clean smell"
This soap has a grainy surface that's feels great without being too rough. It also has a nice woodsy clean smell that isn't too strong and doesn't cling to you. Although it's for men, I love using it because it smells good without being perfumy or overwhelming. The only thing that would make it better would be a larger size.

This is the ONLY soap that gets my husband clean and smelling fresh! It's the only soap he uses. We buy it in bulk.

Bay Rum is one of those exotic scents that have stood the test of time. Even thought I have other Burt's goodies I find the soap alone leave that subtle fragrance that make female noses approach your personal space. At that time you will be glad that your pores are clean.
This makes a great traveling soap as you will not need to pack a clothe if you are traveling light. The bar seems to last forever and when it gets down to the nub you can toss the nub in to the shaving mug.

Oh my God, this soap is wonderful. I bought it for my husband who has oily skin and is prone to breakouts. Not only did it clear his skin up and make his skin softer, I can't stop kissing him. He smells wonderful. Now I've been using it on myself to exfoliate (It's a bit rough). My girlfriends have been buying the soap for their husbands because they love the smell too.

I love the scent of Bay Rum. I used to buy a talcum powder with that scent. Haven't found it in years now. It reminds me of that old barbershop aroma. I just stumbled across this item. Glad to see that scent has not vanished. So it's in soap. That's probably better anyway!

Why I like this soap: 1) Great exfoliant. It has little bits of herbs and such that feel great on your skin. 2) Smells yummy - well, like rum. 3) It lasts forever. It doesn't get all mushy and soft like some soaps. 4) I have very sensitive skin and it didn't effect me one bit. No itching, red rashes or blotching.
