Are your multivitamins gluten-free?
Yes, our multivitamins, including our Essential Man, are gluten free. This information is included on our labeling.
Why are there other ingredients besides vitamins and minerals listed on the packaging?
The additional ingredients are used in tabletting the vitamins and minerals. They have technical functions such as binders, lubricants, disintegrants, and flow agents.
How old do you have to be to start taking your multivitamins?
Our multivitamins are made for people ages 12 and over.
How many multivitamins can I take daily?
We would only recommend you taking one tablet per day unless the box/package suggests otherwise. Please check the label of your multivitamin for specific instructions.
How much vitamin A is in this product and is there any beta carotene?
There is 3000 IU (900 mcg) of vitamin A, in the retinol form, in each tablet. There is no beta carotene. Our previous formulation contained 5000 IU (1500 mcg) of vitamin A in the retinol form, with no beta carotene.
What is the %DV mean on the label?

Why don't multivitamins contain 100% of everything?
There are several reasons that this is the case. First, if we fit 100% of everything in a multivitamin, it would be too large to swallow. Second, your body cannot always absorb 100% of the Daily Value all at one time for some nutrients. Further, we formulate the products based on needs. It is important to get 100% of your vitamin B6 and B12 and deficiencies of these nutrients have been documented. However, for items that may be less than 100%, it is likely that deficiency is uncommon. Remember that you also obtain vitamins and minerals from the daily foods you ingest.
How do I know if I am taking too much of each vitamin?
All of our multivitamins are formulated to be safe when taken according to the directions; usually this is one tablet per day.
